KOMODO NATIONAL PARK

Komodo National Park is a world class dive destination that boasts an abundance of vibrant reefs, macro critters, drift dives, pinnacles, as well as a year round presence of manta rays. It was listed in 1991 as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and covers the three main islands of Komodo, Padar and Rinca as well as 26 smaller surrounding islands and the waters that connect them all. It is approximately 220 000 hectares of unique landscape and ocean to discover!

We are proud to share this magical underwater world with you – safely, professionally and with an endless respect for the ocean and all its inhabitants. The combination of our love for Komodo, rockin’ dive center in central Labuan Bajo, 23 meters custom dive boat and outstanding service-oriented staff will have you relaxed and inspired, yet pumped up wanting more to explore!

Diving Season : The best thing about Komodo National Park is that you can dive here all year round! Usually during October to February, we are able to explore not only the Central part of the park, but also the South side of the park. While from March to September, we normally will explore the North Side of the Park and also Central. Whichever month you plan to visit, Komodo National Park has a lot to offer for divers with different dive certification levels.

Water Temperature : Komodo Central and North side is around 25-29 degree Celcius, while Komodo South Side is around 23-27 degree Celcius.

Dive Sites : Everyday we choose different dive sites depending on the tides, moon and current, also dive certification of our guests and if there are any request. You can find out more about the dive sites on this page.

Current : Komodo National Park is located between the Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean, where there is a vast amount of water movement being channelled through the system of islands in different directions. This means that in certain areas the current is stronger than others but it is also the reason we are often surprised by such unique encounters of marine life. Most dive sites have protected sections to explore, so depending on your level of comfort with the current , we can either keep it very relaxed or hook in and fly! We will never take beginners to difficult dive sites – there are plenty of stunning areas with little to no current at all!

Marine Life : More than 1,000 species of tropical fish can be seen in the park such as : Manta Rays, Different kinds of Shark (Black Tip, White Tip, Bamboo, Grey Reef), Nudibranch, Octopus, Moray Eel, Turtle (Hawksbill and Green), Eagle Ray, Schooling fishes (Giant Trevallies, Fusilliers, Batfish, Barracuda), Frog Fish, Flamboyant Cuttlefish, Orang Utan Crab, Ornate and Robust Ghost Pipe fish, Scorpion Fish, Common Seahorse and Pygmy Seahorse are common to be seen in the park. However there are possibility to see rare marine mammals such as Dolphins and Whales, rare endangered species such as Dugong (sea cow) that live around the park.

Coral : More than 260 species of corals and 60 species of sponges can be found within the park.
